Mr. and Mrs. Luby Christmas an-
nounce the engagement and ap-
proaching marriage of their daugh-
ter, Peggy to A/2C George C, F.
Nelson of Foster Air Force Case,
Texas, son of Mrs. Anna Nelson of
Wheeling, West Virginia and Mr.
C. F. Nelson of San Diego, Calif.
They plan to be married in the
Christmas home December 21.
P.-T. A. To Meet
The P.-T. A]'. will meet Tuesday,
December 3 at 3 p.m. in the Junior
High Cafeteria.
Dr. Cecil Hyatt will be speaker
on Parents and Youths Can Be
Partners.
The P.-T. A. is selling vanilla
extract in order to pay for the cof-
fee urn installed in the concession
stand at Shark Field. When in
need of a bottle of extract con-
tact any member of the organiza-
tion, they will sell it to you for
only $1.00.
Celebrates Birthday
Miss Emily Weakley, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Weakley was
guest of honor at a birthday dance
given by her parents at the Epis-
copal Hall, Friday night, Novem-
ber 22, in honor of her 1.3th birth-
day. There were 36 teen-age boys
and girls present.
The honoree opened her many
lovely gifts, and cut her beauti-
fully decorated pink and white
cake, which was served with hot
chocolate.
Mrs. Frank Halamicek of El
Campo, and Mrs. Robert Black-
well of Collegeport, were co-host-
esses along with Mrs. Weakley.
FAITH CLASS
The Faith Class of the First Bap-
tist Church had 14 members pres-
ent Sunday, and welcomed Mrs. K.
D. Harness and Mrs. Jimmy Shear-
er as new members. Visitors are
always welcome.

MANLEY CIRCLE
The Manley Circle of the First
Baptist Church met at 9:30 a. m.
Wednesday, November 20, at tne
home of Mrs. E. O. Ramsey for a
study of mission bcoks and the
monthly missionary program.
At the noon hour, a covered dish
luncheon was enjoyed by the seven
members and three visitors, Mrs.
Rayford Harris, Mrs. Nash and
Peggy, attending.
The next meeting will be at the
home of Mrs. Margaret Nichols on
December 4 at 9:30 a.m. All mem-
bers are urged to attend and visi-
tors are always welcome.

speaker for the Mission "Festival
at the Trinity Church in Corpus
Chx-isti, Sunday, November 24.
Rev. A. O. Rast, district secre-
tary of Missions, was a guest
speaker for the Bible Study meet-
ing Sunday evening. He gave an
inspiring talk, in which he asked
two questions, "What am I, and
What am T here for? Tn his talk
he answered them respectively, "I
am a Christian, and I am here to
praise God."
