EXCHANGE WEDDING VOWS AT FIRST
METHODIST CHURCH HERE SATURDAY

MRS. CELLADORE CROCKETT, "$64,000 Ques-
tion" contestant from Cleburne, mails her Easter Seal
contribution for crippled children. The attractive Texan
has captured the interest of Americans during her recent
appearances on the popular television program.
Carla Ehlers, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Ehlers of Palacios,
visited here during the Easter
holidays. Miss Ehlers is a student
Mrs. Mary F. Thompson and
children, B'lly and Roxanne, are
visiting her parents, the C. R. Gib-
sons. Roxanne arrived at the San
at Sam Houston State College in j Juan Hospital in Farmington,
^ | Huntsville. N. M. on March 16 weighing six lbs.
Miss Kay King, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Byron W. King, Sr., and
Norman E. Wilson of Fort Worth,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wilson
of Comanche, Texas repeated' their
marriage vows in an impressive
ceremony held Saturday, March
31, at the First Methodist Church
in Palacios.
Rev. John Fluth performed the
double ring ceremony at 7:30 in
the evening before an altar deco-
rated with greenery on the chancel
rail and an arch of huge white
daisies with candles aglow in
candelabras. The candles were
lighted by Miss Marilyn Johnson
and Donald Johnson, cousins of the
bride.
A program of wedding music
was presented by Miss Carla
Ehlers, organist, who accompani-
ed Mrs. Carroll Cairnes and Miss
Willene Dollar who sang "Because"
and "The Lord's Prayer" by Mrs.
Cairnes.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a ballerina length
gown of lace and tulle and a shoul-
der length veil of illusion. She car-
ried a bouquet of white stephanotis
overlaying her sister Gale's
Bible.
Miss Gale King was her sister's
maid of honor. Misses Anne Her-
man, Gwen Johnson, cousins of the
bride, and Miss Helen Warn were
bridesmaids. The maid of honor
wore a pastel pink lace dress and
the bridesmaids' dresses were of
pastel crystalline. The flower girl,
Miss Sharon King, the bride's sis-
ter, wore a pale blue dotted Swiss.

They carried bouquets of white
shasta daisies.
Dale Wilson o'f Breckenridge
was his brother's best man. Byron
King, Jr., the bride's brother, Bob
I.owry and Willard Pratt of Fort
Worth were ushers.
Following the ceremony a recep-
tion was held in Weimer Hall. The
bride's table was spread in a beau-
tiful imported hand embroidered
cloth. The tiered wedding cake,
embossed with sugar daisies in
pastel shades, was served by Mrs.
Bill Chamblee, Mrs. Gilbert Her-
man poured the lime punch and
Mrs. Mack Johnson registered the
guests.
For their wedding trip, the bride
traveled in an aqua linen suit with
matching hat and shoes, white
gloves and purse. They will return
to Fort Worth this week where
they will resume their work and
studies. They will be at home at
4308 Cole St.
The bride, a graduate of Pala-
cios High School, is a student
nurse at the John Peter Smith
School of Nursing and Texas
Wesleyan College, Fort Worth,
The groom, a graduate of Com-
anche High School, attended John
Tarlton in Stephenville for two
years and is presently employed
by Container Corp. of America.
Among the out of town guests

Glen (Tocker) Sparks was chosen
I "Beau" with Patsy McKissick a?
sweetheart of the Tidehaven FHA
girls at their meeting last week.
The program for the meeting
consisted of a style show on "past,
present, and future".
Jeanette Gates modeled a typi-
cal flapper outfit, a multi-colored
beaded dress made of silk net. She
would have been the bell of the
party with her black chiffon velvet
turbon and black swede shoes.
Frances BullarJ. dressed as a
dance hall girl, showed a black
coat with long hose and a carna-
tion pinned to the garter with a
black felt hat sporting ostrich
feathers.
Molly Billiard presented an out-
fit depicting a secretary of the
'30's, wearing a brown crepe dress
trimmed in green crepe. SJie had
white pumps and a matching bag.
Joyce Mielsch represented the
present with a brightly colored
playsuit consisting of pedal push-
ers and Italian shirt of yellow
denim and underneath the top was
a striped turtle-neck blouse.
Coming attractions for men in-
cluded leather jacket, pink trous-
ers, yellow shirt, blue swede shoes,
peach colored cap, cigars, pep t ills,
bur cut and a pair of dice.
The FHA girls recently attended
the Area III meeting at the Uni-
versity of Houston. Joyce Mielsch
was the voting delegate. The third
year Home Economics girls are
now cooking luncheons and the
first and second year girls are

Tidehaven Home
Demonstration Club
Eleven members and three visi-
tors were present at the March
meeting of the Tidehaven Home
Demonstration Club at the home
of Mrs. Frank Matthes.
The meeting opened with the
"Demonstration Way" led by Mrs.
Nelsen. Mrs. Duncan gave an in-
teresting program on Careful
Planning for a Good Wardrobe.
Mrs. Ford was welcomed as a new
member.
Cokes, coffee, sandwiches and
cookies were se|-ved by the hostess.
The next meeting will be with
Mrs. F. J. Hurta on April 3.—Mrs.

by Mrs. Carroll B. Cairnes and
Mrs. E. N. Falks, Sr. with a buffet
luncheon Saturday, March 31.
The serving table, laid with a
white cloth, was centered with an
arrangement of sweetpeas.
A delicious luncheon consisting of
chicken salad in lettuce cups, po-
tato salad, congealed fruit salad,
lemonade, white cake and straw-
berry ice cream was served to Mrs.
George Lowry, Mrs. Don Batch-
elder, Mrs. Alta Marie Patrick,
Misses Gwen Johnson, Marilyn
Johnson, Anne Herman, Verdell
Cosby, Annette Johnson, Rose
Purswell, Gale King, Carla Ehlers,
