New Synagogue
For Area To Be
Dedicated Sunday
The formal dedication of the
Shearith Israel Synagogue in
Wharton is set for Sunday after-
noon at 3 o'clock.
Many unusual modern features
have been incorporated into this
synagogue, which was originally
planned for Houston but was later
revised for the Bay City, El Cam-
po, Newgulf, Edna, Palacios, and
Wharton congregations.
Basic floor plan of the building
is in the shape of the Star of Da-
vid. The all-weather structure has
a capacity of 450 with the seating
arrangement assuring optimum
view upon the ark and pulpit from
any seat.
Best wishes to Bay City's nifty
