Pushing last week-end didn't
compare to that of the week be-
fore, but there were scattered re-
ports of some good catches.
A couple of paint store men,
Floyd Young and Ernest Tyler,
fished at Turtle Bay and caught
an eight-pound red and a four
and one-half pound trout for hon-
ors in the biggest fish division.
In all, they landed four reds
and seven trout. All of latter were
over two pounds.
Chick Brueggen and M. A.
Vogelsang fished Thursday in East
Bay and came home with 40 keep-
ers.
Melvin Bl^m, Warren Hastings,
and Garland Watson fished
around Half Moon Reef Saturday
and found the water rough and
slightly sandy. They report little
or no luck.
Bill Schu!ff, who owns and
operates the Effie and Bill Bait
Camp on Caney Creek below Sar-
gent, says fishing has been very
good in that area lately.
Andy Mullino of Wharton hook-
ed his biggest fish the other day
at Matagorda. Andy came up with
a 135-pounder, neatly hooked
through the ear! Strangely enough,
Andy weighs 135 and has one
heck of an ear ache this week!
Harv Boughton, outdoor editor
of the Houston Post, will be guest
speaker at the September 6 meet-
ing of the Bay City Anglers Club.
