When Dirt Gets In The Motor
One day recently I had difficulty
with my car It seemed to be in
good mechanical condition but it
did not operate smoothly It hnd
no pickup and no power I took
it to the mechanic and explained
my trouble and asked him what
was the cause of the difficulty
He explained that an accumulation
of dirt and sludge in the
oil pan prevented the circulation
of the oil and the motor was
operating with insufficient lubrication
After it was cleaned out
and new clenn oil put in the
motor started off with its usual
power and vigor Human lives
are like that Oftentimes little
things interfere with their smooth
operation Even such a little
thing as a speck of dirt will interfere
with the operation of a
powerful motor and the human
machine cant do its best when it
is cluttered up with wrong doing
and wrong living Like the motor
in ii modern automobile a life
must be clean to do its best
work clean in mind and body
WHAT WE THINK
BY FRANK DIXON
The important of right eating
habits is a thing that many people
overlook Right eating habits arc
important for two reasons First
they are important from n health
standpoint and second they are important
from a personal efficiency
standpoint
These two are as n rule closely
related As a rule when one is in
good health he or she is efficient
though I have seen rome people
who were in good health wo were
not efficient and some very efficient
persons who were not in the
best of health In fact I have
seen efficient persons who had
very poor health hut were efficient
in spite of it With good
health they would without doubt
have been much more efficient
I have long been a believer that
ones health can be made good or
had by ones eating habits and
habit of bodily cure These two
will not of course correct eery
case of poor health but they will
correct such a large part < > f them
thnt they are well worth trying
I urn not n food fadist In fact
I pay little attention to the things
promoted by food fodists Not
thnt their ideas ore not good
many of them are and if followed
would result In much better health
to many people
The best rule in the selection of
a diet is the individual himself
He must by experiments discover
GOING TO MOVE

II L STEWART OWNER
the things Hint agree with him
best and in the eating of which
he feels tho best and does hh
best work
Most people can discover what is
the beat for than to eat but not
everyone has the will power nnd
the decision nnd the strenght of
purpose to discipline themselves
to enting the things that thoy
know by the trial and error method
are best for them
I have known people who keep
their stomachs in a constant turmoil
by eating food not suited to
them nnd by eating things between
meals that they know from personal
experience they should not
eat Their trouble is not luck of
knowledge but lack of will power
and decision nnd strenght of purpose
They have no one to blame
hut UhcmHclvcH mid nil the pills
and dope they tike is not going to
give them the best of health In
building healthy bodies it takes n
little brains along with a little
common sense and will power to
get the best results
Every day we see people who
are dull and littless and tired and
diaggy They have no ambition
or pep They drag through the
day and come to the end of the
day tired out The reason is not
always the food with a few it is
deeper ban that ibut in the majority
of instance the condition can
be conectcd by right eating ha
bits aided by a few other helpful
habits
We see also every dny persons
with muddy compactions Right
enting and correct personal by
gienc in many instances are all
that are needed to put them on the
road of abounding health
We hear a lot these days of this
and that vitimin We have become
ns a people vitamin conscious
There is no doubt that many are
helped by vitamins because incorrect
eating habits have redveed
vitality and bodily functions to a
point where they need a sparkplug
to pep them up
It isnt true in all cases but
most of us have our choice between
good health or poor health
especially in those cases where the
eating practices are wrong The
individual who says I know this
wont agree with me but I like it
and Ill just take a second help
ing isnt going to enjoy the best
of hcnlth He is trading off his
health to satisfy his appetite He
has had his choice and has not
chosen health
