The Roving Eye
By Doug Little
This week's episode of the
rotten retina is filled with an
errie essence of Ihe super
natural To begin the slate of
events was the weekly witti
cism of the pep rally. The
exhibition of dramatic latent
began with a group of local
lovelies playing the part of
witches watching a crystal ball.
The vision in the piece of
crystal was that of Howard
Goat-smell, played by Keith
Carlile, interviewing a Wylie
Bulldog, played by Chuck
Albaugh. As the folly con
tinued, the witches brewed up
a potion of football players,
consisting of the Lions. The
potion was released to win the
game The skit started out
slow, but it recieved a great
response and was greatly
appreciated. . ..
In the mysterious spirit of
Halloween is mixed the equally
odd sighting of the IJFO's at
Lake McCarthy. I promised last
week that I would get to the
bottom of it and 1 think I did.
Tuesday night there was a UFO
hunting caravan consisting of
about 12 cars out on the lake
road Being the brave eoura
giou.v adventurous reporter I
am, I was right there with my
field glasses and butterfly net
looking for little green men.
You are probably on the edge of
your seat waiting for the result,
but all that my accomplices saw
was a few mysterious blinking
lights. None of them landed
So. I came home with my
butterfly net empty but it was
something to do and everybody
had a great t ime. Since then my
accomplices and I have been
back out there and we saw
some more blinking lights. We
have derided that if you're
looking for a UFO, you'll find it.
Also in the wonderful fun
loving spirit of Halloween was a
chain of events that stirred the
imagination and I toggled the
mind The town waa covered
with the uaual trick or treaters.
It haa been diacovered that
certain breeds of chicken*
migrate south about thia time
of year and that their flight
pattern is right over the school,
for it was covered in eggs.
Another bit of super natural is
the growing of Police Chief,
Red Parson's car. Thi* is
credited to the fart that it waa
heavily fertilised Saturday
night Along with these my*
terimiK happenings wn* the
usual wilier balloon barage. the
onslaught of smeared vasilene
ami several occurances of those
migral ing chickens,
Ai ihis time I would like lo
thank all i>f my reiuiers for their
many compliments. | deeply
