the Baptist church of Laward,
Texas. She was an active mem-
ber of her church until she had
a stroke in 1942. She remained
very cheerful despite her illness.
Her husband preceeded her in
death 12 years ago. She Is surviv-
ed by one son, William Arthur
Smith of Pasadena. California,
who was at his mother's bedside
until the day before her death.
Due to circumstances he was call-
ed home and had to return. Alao
surviving are two sisters and l'ive
brothers. All were present for
the services. These are P. W.
Hood of Jasper, Texaa; Homer
Hoor of Plainview: W. P. Hood of
Trent; Horace Hood of Abilene;
Roscoe Hood of Stamford; Mrs.
Grace Walker of Plainview: and
Mrs. J. T. Brown of Vera. Other
relatives attending the funeral
were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Brown and family; Mr. and Mrs.
E. R. Curtis, of Seymour; Mr. and
Mrs. James Damon and daughter
of Moody; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gray
and family of Munduy; Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Brown end children of
Vera; Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Dennis
of Abilene; Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Schroeder and daughter of Akron,
Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Hood
of AnTarillo; and Mrs. and Mrs.
Leonard Hood of Stamford.
Interment was in the Munday
Cemetery beside her mother. Pall-
bearers were nephews, and are as
follows: Fred Brown, Leonard
Hood, Clayton Hood, Arthur Beats
and Clydene Hood.
He was told to take two asprinis
and a hot bath. The aspirins went
down easy, but before he could
swallow all that water his stom-
ach was moving in and out with
the tide.

1953. Before her marriage she
was employed with the agricul-
tural stabilization and conserva-
tion office for Baylor County in
Seymour,
The groom uttended the Ranger
schools where he graduated in
lttSO. He also attended Ranger
Junior College, He is now em-
ployed with the Texas and Pa-
cific Railroad.
Mr. and M<rs. Williams have
established temporary residence in
Ranger.

Rites Read July 3
The wedding vows of Miss Kath-
erine Robertson, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Loyd Robertson, Hed
Springs, and Mr. Kenneth Wil-
j llams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Addie
Williatrfs, Ranger, were solemn-
! ized at 8:00 o'clock Saturday eve-
ning, July 3, at the Baptist Church
of Red Springs. Rev. Keith Parks,
former pastor, performed the
I ceremony. ,
I The church was decorated with
baskets of white glads and cluht-
point candelabras were entwined
with greenery and held tull pink
tapers. Pink bows marked the
pews.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride was attired in a dress
of white chant illy lace over satin,
which belonged to her close friend,
i Mis. Alton Stiles. The strapless
'bodice wus covered with a lace
I jacket featuring tiny lace and
| satin covered buttons. The cir-
cular illusion, finger-tip veil was
attached to a satin cap scattered
with seed pearls. The bride car-
ried an orchid atop a white Bible
to complete her bridal attire. She
carried out the tradition of some-
thing old, something new, some-
thing borrowed and blue and a
six-pence in her shoe. She also
wore a strand of pearls and a pair
of pearl ear rings, a gift of the
groom'.
Maid of honor was Miss Patsy
Robertson, Red Springs, sister of
the groom. She wore a dress of
blue organdy over taffeta with
white accessories and carried a
colonial bouquet of pink carna-
tions.
Candlelighters were twins,
'Mlssc Anita and Juanita Welch of
Red Springs.
Mrs. Keith Parks was vocalist,
accompanied by Mrs. O. H. Bart-
ley, Seymour. The bride's chosen
songs were "Because" and "The
"The Lord's Prayer".
The groom's best man was his
I brother-in-law, Salvatore Girleo
J of Arlington. Ushers were Doyle
! Gentry, Ranger, and Byron Robert-
j son. Red Springs, cousin of the
i bride.
Reception
A reception was held in the as-
j sembly roocn of the church. In the
I receiving line were the groom's
parents, the bride's parents, thte
! bride and groom, the irfaid of
| honor and the best man. Presld-
j ing at the bride's book was Mrs.
i Alton Stiles, Red Springs, close
| friend of the bride. The three-
tiered cake was served by the
i bride's aunt, Mrs. Ted Joyce, Dal-
las, and the pink frosted punch
I and the ladled by the groom's sis-
I ter, Mrs. Salvatore Garleo, Ar-
! lington.
The table was covered with a
white satin cloth, brought from
! Japan, and was centered with an
j arrangement of white carnations.
When Mr. and Mrs. Williams
left for a short trip to Lawton,
! Oklahoma, the bride was wearing
a suit of brown linen with beige
