KNOX COUNTY
ELECTION RETURNS
BENJAMIN. July 24 <Speclal> —
Knox County voters turned out in
good numbers to «ive Sheriff Ho-
mer Melton u sound victory over
his two write-in opponents and
provide spirited races on other
positions. Melton tallied 1912,
Grover Coffman 159 and T. O.
McMmn 13
With eight of the 10 precincts
reported and the other two not
exacted to change the trend they
gave Alan Haley a commanding
lead in his quest for the Court of
Criminal Appeals Judgeship. Haley
tallied fW7 to 120 for Sam Davis.
169 for Lloyd Davidson and 72 for
W. C. Graves.
Incumbent Tax-Assessor-Collec-

bent John Kimbrough 826 to 704
for the 83rd District representa-
tive post which includes Baylor,
Haskell, Throckmorton and Knox

A runoff seems likely for the
50th District Attorney position as

I behind his two focw in the coun-

cinct one, T. C. Carter ousted
Lloyd Waldrip, and Ed Shaver by
counts ot' 337, 118 and 149 respec-
tively.
Precinct three commissioner
C. A. Bullion edged his foe, J. B.
Euban Jr., by only seven votes, J
128-121.
