CLEAN UP
CAMPAIGN PLANNED
Movement For a Cleaner City Should
Meet with Support from Every
Patriotic Citizen
The Civic Committees from
the Pierian and Booster Clubs
met in joint session Tuesday
afternoon at the library, in order
to perfect plans for the general
cleaning up campaign, which
promises to be one of the most
important moves ever made
along this line in the history of
Seymour.
On motion from the floor, Mrs,
McDaniel, chairman of the Civic
committee from Pierian Club,
took the chair, and motion was
made and carried that on April
4th, three prizes of $5.00, $3.00
and $2.00 be awarded to the per-
son who has the best kept prem-
ises, 2nd best and 3rd best, and
that blue ribbons be awarded
everyone who has striven to
make his home more beautiful
and sanitary.
March 10th has been set aside
as general clean up day and we
urge every individual in ^he city
to put forth his earnest efforts
to rid the city of all unsanitary
debris. Special wagons will be
supplied by the city to haul off
all trash etc., and we hope every
one will avail themselves of this
opportunity and join the clean
up movement.
There will be four blue ribbon
days for Seymour, April 4, June
] 4, August 4 and October 4; on
which days blue ribbons will be
awarded by judges, (committee
of ladies) from the several dis-
tricts of our city, and the com-
mittees in charge hopes to be
able to present every home with
a blue ribbon.
Special committees comprising
Mr. Rupe, Rev. Howard and
Mr. Wheat was appointed to
look after the mosquito situation
for the summer.
Special committee, consisting
of Meadames Roach and Pistole
and Rev. Stallings was appointed1
to look after the sanitary con-
dition (yf the business portion of
the city.
The various pastors of the city
have been asked to deliver a
sermon on civic righteousness,
and we trust much good along
these lines will be accomplished
thru this medium.

New Jewelry Case
A. E. Richmond is making his
jewelry store a place of art and
beauty. We doubt if there is a
prettier store in Texas outside of
the larger cities. The latest im-
provement consists of two jewel-
ry cases, each 10 feet long. The
glass top and side are joined
with a patent cement, and you
could break the glass before the
cement would give way.
The sliding doors behind are
provided with locks to make the
jewelry safe. Mr. Richmond
told the salesman he wanted the
best ease that money could buy
and the s. said there could be
nothing nicer, unless the frame
should be made of gold.

D. A. Eiland and wife of Ben-
jamin were in the city Wednes-
day and night. Mr. Eiland used
to live in our county when he
was a boy. He is now the very
efficient district clerk of Knox
county and is a candidate for re-
election. He met the Banner
editor and paid the paper a rath-
er high compliment and proved
that he meant what he said by
subscribing for a year. We are
glad to say the Banner has many
warm friends in Knox county.

Imported Question Answered
We arc Often Ask the Question as to Whether We Have Opened up the
Credit Business For Fall Settlement....
To this question we wish to say: To all parties who have established a reputation
for meeting their obligations promptly with us Our Credit Door always stands wide
open, but we are not looking for credit trade from parties who make a practice of
settling about once every 2 or 3 years as conveneience presents itself.
There are two classes of Credit that will put any
Merchant out of Business if Practiced extensively.
One is the Credit extended to Parties who NEVER
Pay and the other is that extended to those who settle
every two or three year. The final result will be the
same in either case.

The Credit System of the Mercantile Worlc
