The second eopv of the Western
School Journal of Big Lake, Texas,
has been received at the Banner of-
fice. This paper is gotten out in the
school where Prof. ,T. G. Smith is now
teaching. Mr. Smith, who was form-
erly teacher in Baylor county, is the
censor for the paper^ Judging from
appearances of the Journal we should
think it is the onlv paper published
in the town. It not only gives school
news, but news from all over torru and
county, to say nothing of a good line
of advertising.
The new railroad being projected
from Newcastle to Breckenrldge has
been granted permit and work is well
advanced. In less than 30 das stee1
will be laid into Graham. A slight
delay will be experienced there in get-
ting across the Brazos river, but the
work will be pushed with all speed,
as the oil field needs the road.
EASTER IS A GLORIOUS
TIME OF THE YEAR
It is well worth remembering by ffift.
Possibly your Ladies do not expect such reraemberance.
Their pleased surprise will increase the joy of giving.
They arc inexpensive, but we have a most gratifying se-
lection of appropriate Easter pieces here.

tory, of which Mr. J. F. Poff is pro-
prietor. Mr. Poff says it is their in-

with their headquarters, though they
will have two other factories that will
not be stationery. One of them is be-

will be put in at Megargel, to remain
as long as may be necessary.
The Quick Service Factory is an ex-

service to the community. It will be
an assett to the community, and we
are hoping that Messrs. Poff have a
