Richard Alston, who owns a
farm in the Round Top area,
is making plans for sprigging
Coastal Bermuda this fall. Als-
ton was recently assisted in de-
veloping a plan by the SCS
which calls for pasture improve-
ment work.

Park area, has completed the
construction of a farm pond.
This pond was located to pro-
vide better distribution of graz-
ing. Local ASC office provided

ver last spring. Kainer returned
all Hubam residue back to the
soil. He is using Hubam Clover
as a soil improving crop in his
conservation cropping system
which includes corn and sor

'Mister Cowboy1 Coming To Fair
Rex Allen, known as "Mister Cowboy" for his numerous starring
roles in western movies, will appear at the Quarter Horse Shows
Oct. 14, 15 and 16 at the 1960 State Fair of Texas in Dallas. Allen
will be featured with his famous horse, "KoKo."

HD CLUB MEETS
The Muldoon HD Club met
in its regular monthly meeting
at the court house and Com-
munity Center Monday night
with 17 members answering the
roll call. There were four vis
itors, Mesdames Bob Weeren of
La Grange, W. F. Langston,
Andy Speed and D. G. Koop
mann and the home agent, Mrs.
Nettie Mae Freudenburg pre-
sent.
Mrs. Henry Russ, president,
presided. The president thanked
all who took part in adding
funds to the treasury during
the past month. Mjrs. Effie Ivy
gave the council report of which
the highlight was the election
of our president as 1961 coun-
cil treasurer.
Mrs. Freudenburg demonstra
ted on "Dried Arrangements
and How to Dry Materials for
Same." Mrs. Langston, by spe-
cial request, had her beautiful
woven bedspread on display
and Mrs. Andy Speed had her
beautiful purse made of huck
towel needle worked with wool
thread. Mrs. Speed, speaking
for her sister, Mrs. Langston,
gave the details how the
beautiful multi-colored all wool
bedspread was made and also
how the beautiful purse was
made.
Refreshments of cake, chips,
mints and tea were served by
the hostesses, Mrs. William
Cherry, Mrs. Joe Menely and
Mrs. Wallace Cherry.
Hostesses for the October
meeting will be Mrs. Joyce Ja-
necka, M!rs. Eva Davis and
Mrs. Inez Gosch.
HOME FROM HOSPITAL
Mrs. Leonard Cherry return-
ed from the Fayette Memorial
Hospital Monday afternoon
where she had been a patient
for the past five days. She is
improving nicely.

Students at SWTSC
Eleven students from Schul-
enburg have registered for fall
classes at Southwest Texas
State College at San Marcos.
A record-breaking enrollment
of about 2650 is expected at
the San Marcos college this
fall.

Parker Lueders, who was a
visitor here, had the misfor-
tune of getting bitten by a
snake and had to be taken to
a physician in La Grange for

Pvt. Jurek enlisted September
13, 1960 for a period of six

Dennis graduated from Schu-
lenburg High School after
which he enrolled at Southwest
Texas State College where he
graduated with a B.S. Degree
in chemistry. He plans to be-
gin his six months active duty
in November and is the son of
Mr. and Mjrs. Julius L. Jurek
