for Women at Sacred Heart
Church, Hallettoville, on Sun-
Uay, January 29. He will preach
the three conferences at 2, 3,
and 4 p.m., wlhich will be fol
lowed by reception of the Gold
en Jubileo Class of new mem-
bers of the local Christian
Mothers Society nnd Benedic-
tion with the Blessed Sacra-
ment.
All ladies of the parish and
elsewhere, single and married,
are welcome and invited to at-
tend and hear the distinguished
speaker who is National Direc-
tor of the Archconfratemity
lof Christian Mothers and at
present is conducting a tour of
daily addresses to clergy, oth-
ers to the laity, in a series of
places in the Diocese of Ama-
rillo, January 15-24.
A Golden Jubilee Banquet will
1)0 held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday,
January 29, at Sacred Heart
Parish Hall, inviting also the
clergy and the men.

Mr. and Mrs. Willie E. Bauer,
residents of Swiss Alp, cele-
brated their Golden Wedding
Anniversary on Saturday, Jan-
uary 14, at Camp Lutherhill.
The immediate family members
enjoyed a turkey dinner and
other friends and relatives came
in the afternoon to extend their
congratulations.
Their pastor the Rev. F. E.
Eilers trave an inspiring mes-
sage followed by several songs.
Bouquets of gold chrysanthe-
mums blended in with the
theme of the day. Mrs. Bauer,
the honored guests and1 mem-
bers of the house party wore
gold aster corsages tied with
gold ribbon. Mr. Bauer and oth-
er men wore golden buttonieres.
The serving table was laid
with a lace cloth over gold. The
center of the table hold a bou-
quet of golden chrysanthemums
with gold foilage and gold can-
dles in crystal holders.
Mrs. Martin Gebert presided
at the silver coffee service. Miss
Rebekah Eilers served punch
and the cake was served by
Mrs. Gilbert Jochen who also
baked and decorated it. Gold
leaves decorated the tiered cake
which had a gold bell on top
beneath which was inscribed a
golden "50" within a wreath.
Miss Vivian Ann Bauer, the
oldest grandthild, registered
the guests. The other grandchil-
Idren were in charge of the
gifts.
Willie E. Bauer, son of Mr.
,and Mrs. George Bauer, and
Alma Kiesling, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. John Riesling, were
married January 10, 1911 at
Swiss Alp and have lived on
the same farm in that commu-
nity all of their married life.
Their children and their fam-
ilies are as follows: Laura, and
her husbanid, Max Hany Ruegg,
daughter, Ethel Jeanette of
Dallas; Miss Leona Bauer of
Swiss Alp, and Alvin, Ihis wife,
Anna, and children, Vivian Ann
and Ralph William of Arling-
ton. All were present for the
happy occasion.
Five members of tlie wedding
party of 50 years ago are still
living. They are George Kies-
ling of Schulenburg, brother of
Mrs. Bauer, Mrs. Elo Becker of
New Ulm, sister of Mrs. Bauer,
Mrs. W. E. Rodgers of Weimar,
Mr. A. C. Knippa of Austin and
Mrs. B. Romberg of Seguin. All
'were present except Mr. Knippa
and; Mrs. Romberg.
Lunch in the afternoon con-
sisted of sanidwichcs, cookies,
(potato chips, pickles, coffee,
punch and wedding eke.
About 125 guests were pres-
ent from far and near. Mr. and
Mrs. Bauer received many beau
tiful and useful gifts as well as
numerous beautiful cards and
wishes.
On Sunday, Jan. 15 flowers
were placed in their honor on
the altar of the Philadelphia
Lutheran Church of which they
have been members since their
marriage.

Lunch was served consisting
of cakes, sandwiches, strudle,

coffee. At a late hour everyone
departed wishing Mrs. Tupa
many more happy birthdays.

High Hill HD Club
Holds January Meet
The High Hill Home Demon-
stration Club met at the home
of Miss Otilia Ripper on Jan-
uary 9 for their regular meet-
ing. Roll call was answered by
seven members.
The president, Mrs. Frank
Schmidt, presided and appoint-
ed new leaders for the various
committees. The Council report
was given by Miss Erna Ripper.
Recreation prizes were won
by Mrs. Rud. Ripper and Mrs.
Adolph Christ. The meeting ad-
journed with the hostess serv-
ing refreshments.
The next meeting will be at
the home of Mrs. Rud. Ripper.
