BAND MEMBERS
Pour BFH! band members
qualified for the All-Star band
Hhis year. They are Wilbert
Kainer, Rose Marie Humplik,
Johnny Pratka and Diane Bux-
kemper. Tryouts for this honor
were held in San Antonio on
January 14.
Rose Marie Humplik, senior
BFH majorette, has made the
All-Star band five times. Be-
sides playing the tenor saxo-
phone, alhe plays the organ, pi-
ano, and alto saxophone. Rose
said, "It is always very inter-
esting to play in the All-Star
band, because one learns some-
thing new each time."
Wilbert Kainer, sophomore,
received the honor for the first
time and will play his cornet
in the All-Star band. He thinks
this is a new anld tthrillinff ex-
perience. Asked why he wanted
to join the band, ho replied, "I
just wanted to play."
Diane Buxkemper, freshman,
is a first year winner and will
play clarinet in the band. Diane
isaid she became interested in
music when Mr. Kloesel started
teaching music in Columbus.
This is also her first year in
thq BFH banidi.
Tlhie only eighth grader re-
ceiving the honor to play in the
All-Star baind is Johnny Pratka.
This is his first year in the All-
Star band and he will play cor-
r.et. He thinks this will prove
to be a useful and interesting
experience. Johnny can also
play the trombone and says mu-
sic would be good as a career.
Rehearsals for the All-Star
band will be held in San An-
tonio in February.
MAGAZINE DRIVE OPENS
The Bishop Forest Annual
Magazine Drive was officially
opened Mpnday, January 16, by

Mr. Terry Proctor, representa-
tive of the Look magazine.
Mr. Proctor stated that sales-
manship gives one the ability
to communicate. He showed the
students many of the beautiful
prizes which may be obtained
through the sales of magazines.
Proceeds for the drive will be
(used for payments on the foot-
ball scoreboard installed last
summer.
So if you hear a knock on
your door, don't bo alarmed. It
may be a BFH salesman asking
you to subscribe to one of the
159 magazines on his list.
