Will Meet in Dallas to Aid Re*
cruiting of Munition
Workers.
The Texas State Council of Defense hn*
issued a call for a special meeting to be
held in Dallas on Friday morning at 1(»
o'clock to urge State-wide co operation
with the United States Employment Service
in securing munition workers for the Gov-
ernment. The council will meet in t!i«
Chamber of Commerce building at Dallas.
The Federal Government has appealed
to the Nation to aid in the manufacture
of supplies and munitions for the soldier*
i 11 France and Texas has been called upon
to meet a quota of 5,200 men. The Em-
ployment Service has been working dili-
gently to obtain volunteers for the work
from the men in non-essential industries
throughout the State, but to date the meas-
ure of success has been so limited that
the State Council has decided to ask it..-*
