NEW YOKK, Dec. 29—Criminals, In 10,-

New York of cash and goods amounting
to approximately $25,000,000 during lttlU,
according to the New York Tribune to-
day. The estimate was given by officials
of 32 burglary insurance firms in the city,
who say the year just ending has been
the most disastrous in their history. Rob-
beries increased by more than M per cent
over last year and the value of the goods
stolen almost doubled.
The principal losses were: Silk Indus-
try, $2,000,000: furriers. $1,500,000; truck-
ing firms, $1.500,000; jewelers. $1,000,000;
the total of Liberty bonds and other se-
curities appropriated by youthful bank
messengers exceeded $1,000,000.

the world's largest Hlble now Is being
written by hand bv leading mm and wom-
en of the United Kingdom. Among those
who ure participating In the work are
King George, Queen Macy, the Prince of
Wales and the Cabinet ministers.
The book will roiitaln the complete text
of the authorized version from Genesis to
Revelations nnd there is space iu it for
12,(MM) hand-written contributions It will
be 5 feet 2 Inches high and fl feet 6 Inches
wide. Twelve large j*oatskins were re-
quired for the binding, which Is done in
red levant morocco leather.
This huge book will be exhibited in
various places, the Idea being to attract
support of the Bible crusade in 1021.
