past week was the reception given by
the Mai fa History Club to the Alpine
fltudy Club Saturday afternoon in the
auditorium of the high school. Misses
Thalia Gillette and Mary Lee Greenwood
were the piano accompanists. At the
conclusion of the literary and musical
program refreshments were served by
the daughters of the History Club.
Mrs. Arthur Spencer and children are

was the opening of the Coleman Club

receiving line that greeted the guests upon
their entrance to the reception suite. The
club rooms, Including the ball-room, were
most effective In ferns and cut flowers.

to the citizens of this part of Bee ('oupty
was the beautifully appointed C o'clock
dinner served Tuesday evening by tlie
Junior class in domestic economy at (lie
Tuleta Agricultural High School to; their
mothers and a few of their friends. Tlie
table arrangement, the decorations and the
menu shows the young ladies have learn
ed much of the essential in social as well
as home life. The color scheme was red
aud was carried out with an artistic ef-
fect throughout the four courses, which
were prepared and served by the young
hostesses. A great bowl of Indian
blankets, one of our most sumptuous field
flowers, over which hovered a group or
red butterflies, made the centerpiece. The
red candles with red shades marked the
corners of the table, which was seated for
six guests. The young ladles served the
following appetizing menu: ('ream of to-
mato soup, olives, crotons, chicken pie,
creamed beets, stuffed potatoes, hot bis-
