Falls were held at 2 p.m.
Tuesday, April 11, 2011, at
the First Baptist Church of
Nocona. Rev. Dave
Woodbury and Buddy Lee
officiated. Interment fol-
lowed at Nocona Cemetery
under the direction of Jerry
Woods Funeral Home.
Bette was born March 26,
1923, in Wichita Falls the
daughter of the late Kenneth
and Clemmie Stone Norris.
She married Joe Weldon
(Jody) Howard on Aug. 24,
1938, in Marietta, Okla., and
passed away April 9 in
Wichita Falls.
She was a homemaker
and a member of the First
Baptist Church and Jean's
Men's Bible Class.
Survivors include: sons
Ed Howard of Iowa Park,
Dan Howard of Lubbock and
Ronnie Howard of
Sugarland; daughter Janie
Swinney of Midland; sister
Suse Vanderslice of
Pittsburg; eight grandchil-
dren; 17 great-grandchildren
and several great-great-
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bob
Langford, Ben Hill, Bobby
Brashier, Carrol Keck, Terry
Newland, and Jim Pitman.

eran and carpenter Jody B.
(Joe) Walser, 72, of Nocona
were held at 10 a.m. Friday,
April 8, 2011, at Jean's
Men's Bible Class with Rev.
Jonathon Brown and Rev.
Lamoin Champ officiating.
Interment followed at
Nocona Cemetery under the
direction of Jerry Woods
Funeral Home.
Jody was born Dec. 21,
1938, in Nocona the son of
the late James Lonzo and
Artie Albina (Sappington)
Walser. He married his wife
Sue in Gainesville on Sept.
17, 1982. She preceded him
in death on July 30, 2010.
Jody passed away April 6 in
Nocona.
He was a veteran of the
U.S. Army and a carpenter
by trade.
Survivors include: his
daughter, Jodi Martin of
Nocona; sisters Peggy
McBride and Icle Skinner of
Nocona, Bonnie Weaver of
Snyder and Dixie Atkins of
Fort Worth; brothers W.W.
(Red) Walser and Levi
Walser both of Nocona; and
two grandchildren, Zachary
and Cody.
Pallbearers were John
Brown, Chad Brown, Gary
Miller, Stephen Miller,
Roland Bell and Stanley
Miller.

Funeral Home. Officiating

Bobby was born June 27,
1950, in Ennis the son of
Walter Leon and Geraldine
Eli Dunn. He died April 7 in
Nocona.
Survivors include: his
mother, Geraldine Cook of
Saint Jo; children Shelly
Young, Gracie Woods, Greg
Young, Tracy Young and
Brian Young all of Nocona;
10 grandchildren; a brother,
Charles Young of Saint Jo;
and best friends, Lloyd
Smith and Larry Halcomb of
Nocona.
In lieu of flowers, memo-
rials may be made to the
funeral home to help cover
expenses.

Connie Lee Miller went
to be with her heavenly
father on Sunday, April 3,
2011. She was born Aug. 17,
1915, to Missie Ella Morgan
and Albert Luther Morgan
on a farm near Bonita.

Connie is survived by a
brother, J.P. Morgan and his
wife Elsie of Albuquerque,
N.M., two sisters, Minnie
Frances Ivins of Merced,
Calif., and Mattie Dean Cox
of Altus, Olcla.; and many
nieces and nephews who
remember happy days on the
Miller farm.
Connie attended and
graduated from Bonita High
School. She married Joseph
Lee Miller on Dec. 16, 1934.
They farmed for many years
near Bonita.
Connie was a member of
the First United Methodist
Church of Saint Jo where she
was a faithful servant. She
was also a member of the
Order of the Eastern Star
where she held many offices
over the years. Connie was a
gifted cook and will be
remembered for her cakes
and pastries which she gen-
erously baked for her church
and community friends.
Birthday girl . . .
Connie earned her LVN
certificate from a nursing
school in Gainesville where
she graduated at the top of
her class. She worked many
years in Saint Jo and
Nocona. She is remembered
as a loving, caring nurse who
had a positive impact on all
to whom she came in con-
tact. Connie was a nurse to
the end.
Connie was preceded in
death by her parents, hus-
band Lee Miller, infant
brother James Earl Morgan,
brothers Bransford Morgan
and Herman Morgan, and
sisters Clara Graham and
Esther Edwards for whom
she cared in her last days.
Pallbearers were Danny
Cox, Wiley Garner, Steve
Morgan, Allen Morgan, J. W.
Nash and Ron Osterhout.
The family of Bill Crabtree wishes to
extend a heartfelt thank you to all friends,
businesses and community members.
You have touched our hearts during this
time of loss with your comforting words,
prayers, food and beautiful flowers.
To the doctors and staff of Nocona
General Hospital that have worked for years
making Bill's life more comfortable and

Arlie Weaver celebrated
her 96th birthday with a din-
ner on March 26th at the
Smokehouse in Lindsay.
The party was given by
her two daughters, Josephine
Keith of Nocona and Betty
Bradford of Decatur, and
granddaughter Louise
Ramsey of Montague.
Birthday cake was served
to about 40 of her grandchil-
dren, great-grandchildren
and great-great-
grandchildren that came
from as far as Arkansas to
celebrate with Grandma
Weaver.
We hope to celebrate her
100th birthday next.
