for it's first run.
Drug charges dominate
June felony indictments
A child protective services
investigation led to the arrest of
three individuals on charges of
possession of marijuana under
four ounces Friday.
Holcomb was accompanying
the CPS case worker who was
conducting a separate investiga-
tion at the residence in the 200
block of Fannin Street.
"We were over there investi-
gating child protective service
call when I entered the house I
smelt the smell of marijuana and
asked Dennis, and he was very
cooperative," Police Chief Kent
Holcomb stated. "He gave it all
up."
Penny Resendiz and Dennis
Eastlack were arrested at the
scene while a warrant was
issued for the third occupant of
the home, Timothy Eastlack,
who was subsequently arrested
on the same charge.
Holcomb said Dennis
Court to meet
MONTAGUE - The County
Commissioners will hold a brief
meeting Thursday, June 12, at 9
a.m.
The court will consider
approving the bi-weekly payroll,
pay bills and consider combin-
ing their June 26 payroll meet-
ing with their regularly sched-
uled court date of June 23 due to
two commissioners being at
school on the 26th and a third
recovering from back surgery.
Eastlack "was very coopera-
tive;" admitted he was the one
smoking the marijuana, told
officers where a baggy of dried
marijuana could be found and
where five plants were being
grown in pots in the back yard.
"We have to dry the marijua-
na and send it to the lab to be
weighed before determining the
final charges," Chief Holcomb
said. The plants were located in
the backyard in a separate fence.
They were not visible to the
public, the chief added.
Child Protective Services
released the children to next of
kin.
