SAINT JO - Sherry
Jolane Casey Wagner was
born July 23, 1932, in
Coryell County to Charlie
Mac and Lorene Goff Casey.
She passed away Jan. 16,
2011.
Sherry was the first
grandchild in the Goff fami-
ly and was loved and spoiled
by her grandparents, aunts
and uncles. She was joined
in the family by one brother,
William Mack (Sonny)
Casey.
At the age of 9 she dedi-
cated her life to Jehovah and
symbolized it by baptism
and served her God faithful-
ly for over 70 years.
At the age of 11 she con-
tracted polio. Her life was
physically changed by that
terrible virus but because of
her very determined spirit,
she did not allow physical
disability to define who she
was.
In 1950 at the age of 17
she took a bus from
Hamilton to Pensacola, Fla.,
to marry J.D. Wagner. They
had over 60 years of happi-
ness together. They added to
their family, Jimmy, Linda,
Mark, Holly and Jason.
Sherry kept her mind
sharp by reading, doing
crossword puzzles, taxes and
watching old westerns and
mysteries. She loved to trav-
el, and she, J.D. and Jason
spent many "happy trails"
together in the travel trailer
going across the U.S. from
Maine to Alaska.
Sherry was preceded in
death by her parents, Charlie
and Lorene Casey, brother
Sonny, daughter Holly and
son-in-law Herman Stone
and a granddaughter, Aliceia
Wagner.
She is survived by her
husband J.D.; son Jimmy
and wife Joyce of Granbury;
daughter Linda and husband
Tommy Martin of
Gainesville; son Mark and
wife Connie of Saint Jo; and
son Jason and wife Shanele
of Saint Jo; 17 grandchildren
and 26 great-grandchildren;
two uncles, Cecil Goff and
Jerald Goff; one special sec-
ond cousin, Rhonda, and
numerous friends.
There will be a memorial
service Sat., Jan. 22, at 2
p.m. at the Gainesville
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's
Witnesses officiated by Dan
Lindsay.
