NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON BUDGET
The City of Nocona will hold a public hearing to discuss
the Fiscal Year 2011 Municipal Budget on Tuesday
September 14, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Room at
City Hall, 100 Cooke St.
"This budget will raise more total property taxes than last
year's budget by $2,430.00, .0049%, and of that amount
$2,698.24 is tax revenue to be raised from new property
added to the roll this year."
If approved the 2011 Municipal Budget will be considered
for adoption following the public hearing.
The proposed budget has been filed with the City Secretary,
100 Cooke St., Nocona, Texas, (940) 825-3282 where it
may be inspected.

The Library and the Fire
Department are proud of the
public for your generosity in
our first annual "Christmas
in July."
On Aug. 12 some of the
children from our Summer
Reading Program delivered
the toys to the Fire
Department for their "Toys
for Tots" drive. The children
had a great time as Missy
Murphey showed them the
fire truck and around the
firehouse.
If you did not get a
chance to bring a toy by the
Library during July, you can
deliver a toy to the Fire
Department any time.
The Book Club met Aug.
19 to discuss Diane Mott
Davidson's "Catering to
Nobody". It was a small
group of 7 for this meeting.
Joyce Lunsford made two of
the recipes from the book.
Good going Joyce! The next
Book Club will be reading
"Olive Kitteridge" by
Elizabeth Strout. The meet-
ing will be at the Library on
Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m.
Pre-school story time will
begin on Thursday, Aug. 26,
featuring volunteer reader
Francis Waters. We need
volunteers to read to the chil-
dren. If you are interested,
please call the Library at
825-6373.
Legal Aid will not be at
the Library the month of
September due to the Labor
Day holiday. They will
return on Oct. 4.

will receive Bids for Water System Improvements
until 10:30 AM Tuesday the 14th day of September, 2010 at
Citv HalL Nocona, Texas at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Major items to be furnished and installed are:
Approximately 5.250 LF of 8" thru 4" PVC C-900 Water line. 30 EA. Gate Valves sizes 8" thru 2".
Fire Hydrants, service line replacements, and miscellaneous water line connections.
Contract Documents, including drawings and technical specifications, are on file in the office of Biggs &
Mathews, Inc., 2500 Brook Avenue^ Wichita Falls, Texas 76301.
Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained by depositing $50.00 witb Biggs & Mathews, Inc. for
each set of documents so obtained. Each such deposit is non-refundable.
A bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be
submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of The Citv of Nocona.
Texas or negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid
Bond.
Because federal funds are being used, attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally
determined prevailing (David-Bacon) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Commerce and as set
forth in the Contract Documents, must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that
employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color,
religion, sex or national origin.
The Citv of Nocona, Texas
reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any
informalities in the bidding.
Bids may be held by the Citv of Nocona. Texas for a period not to exceed Sixty (60) days from the date
of the opening for Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders,
prior to awarding of the Contract.
All contractors and/or sub-contractors who are debarred, suspended, or otherwise excluded from or
ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full
under this project.
