Boy Scouts To Hat*
Circys Friday
Lubbock, Texas. — The "biggest
show on earth' tor Boy Scouts and
Cubs of the South Plains Council
will be staked this coining Friday
night at Texas Tech stadium foot-
bail lield. starting at 8 p. m., witn
a mammoth cast of ' 1,500 boys,
climaxing months of training to
entertain the people of the 20 coun-
ties comprising the South Plains.
Before the eyes of the 3,000 spec-
tators expected to view the spec-
tacle will be unraveled 15 acts of
action and thrills. Scouts and Cubs
will come from more than 40 towns
lo stage this enormou evsent of one
hour and a half. Tickets are on
advance sale for 25 cents while
they are 35 cents at the box office.
Some boxes of six seats, reserved,
are to be sold for $3 a box.
Behind the scenes will be some
200 volunteer leaders making the
Circus machinery "go around."
The program includes, in order
on the slate, is: prologue to "The
American Way," theme of the Cir-
cus; the grand entry march, rope-
spinning, whip-cracking, whirligigs;
Cubbing, chariot racing and wall-
scaling; signaling, first aid, flint
and steel firemaking, senior scout-
ing, Indian scenes and dancing;
camping, pioneering with a stock-
ade, clowns and the grand finale.
The Texas Tech band will play
throughout the entire program. A
loud speaker will emit a monologue
while the Scouts demonstrate their
