Chicago, June 24 —The ceremony of
laying the corner stone of the new gov-
ernment building to day drew an immense
at tendance Strangers are here from all
parts of the State. Business has been en-
tirely suspended, The Board of Trade
and public offices are closed, and the
streets filled with people in holiday attire.
The procession was a very tine one. includ-
ing a very large number of Knights Tem-
plar aud other Masonic bodies. The pro-
cession has been forming all the morning.
At 10:30 it got under way, with the Arse-
nal hand, from Jefferson Ba:racks, lead-
ing. The procession was four miles long,
and the route marched was over 3 n iles.
The laying of the corner-stone ot the new
Custom-house and Post-office was wit-
nessed by not less than 20,000 people,
gathered in the immediate vicinity, while
the number of strangers in the city is es-
timated to have been as high as 100,000.
The day was cloudless, but the heat was
intolerable, and the participants in the
procession suffered greatly. The proces-
sion was, however, one of the most bril-
liaut ever seen here, not less than 100 so-
cieties of Knights Templar and other Ma-
sonic bodies participating.

These mi.dicines have undoubtedly per- j
i&mued more cures of Consumption than *
other remedy known to the American
<j«blic. They are compounded of vege-
'jilile ingredients, aud contain nothing
which cau he injurious to the human con
>«<;i<aitiion, Other remedies advertised as ,
for Consumption, probably contain :
■cipiutii, which is a somewhat dangerous

*5<>nsuniptiv« patients, it must de great
•feljwy} for its tendency is to confine the
TtHjebid matter in the, system, which, of*
r-»urse, must make a cure impossible.
Sciienck's Pulmonic^ Syrup is warranted
«of. to contain a particle of opium: It. is
'TOinposed of powerful but harmless herbs,
which act on the lungs, liver, stomach,
•*«<1 blood, and thus correct, all morbid
wcretions, and expel all the diseased
matter from the body. These are ihe only :
as^ans by which Consumption can be
•■cured, and as Scbenck's Pulmonic Syrup, |
•Srxs. Weed Tonic, and Mandrake Pills are |
only medicines which operate in this j
it is obvious they are the only genu
nnc cure for Pulmonary Consumption.
