At a special meeting of tbo Alamo Fire
Association, held at their Hall ou the 21st
of October 1874, tbe following resolutions
were adopted :
WukHkas on the 20th of October 1874,
Mr W. A. Dorsett, one of the oldest mem-
bers of our Association, lias been removed
by death from our mids*, and for tbe pur-
pose of manifesting our sympathy, be it
Ilesohed, That in the death of W. A. Dor-

beloved member, and tbe community an
honest and respected citizen.
That tbe sympathies of this association
arc extended to the relatives of the de-
ceased in their bereavement.
That these resolutions be spread upon
tho minutes of this association, and that a

H. g Bit net has a half-column advertise

|Tlie great virtue of this medicine is that
it ripens the matterand throws it out of

fects a cure.
Sciiknck's Sea Weed Tonic, for the
Cube of Dyspepsia, Indigestion, &c.
The Tonic produces a healthy notion of
the stomaoh, creating an appetite, form-
ing chyle, and curing the most obstinate
cases of Indigest ion.
Sciiknck's Mandrake Pills, for the
Curb of Liver Complaint, Ac.
These pills are alterative, and produce a
healthy action of the liver without the
least danger, as they are tree from calo-
mel, and yet more etlcacious iu restoring 11
healthy action of tbo liver.
These remedies are a certain cure for
Consumption, as the Pulmonic Syrup ri-
pens the matter and purities tho blood.
The Mandrake Pills act upon the liver,
create a healthy bile, and remove all dit-
eases of the liver, ofton a cause of Con
sumption. The Sea Weed Tonic gives tone
and strength to the stomach, makes a good
digestion, and enables tbo organs to form
good blood; and thus creates a healthy
circulation of healthy blood. The com-
bined action of theso mediciues, as thus
explained, will cureevery case of consump-
tion, if taken in t ime, and the use of the
medicines persevered iu.

anil both 03 es swelled to an enormous size,
the camera of tbe right eye bursted and
ran out, as we thought.. As a last resort
we called 011 Madam Iloury, who at once
told what the trouble was, and pronounced
it eresypelns, and said the eye was not
entirely goue as suppose<Vaudb)w long it
would take to give relief, as* well as tbe
length of time it would take to etl'eot a
cure. Sho at once commenced treatment
by applying tho hands to tbe head aud
eyes, relieving the pain almost instanta-
neously. I still thought it 110 use trying,
only to please, thinking nothing of that
kind could effect a cure, feoling she must
die.
But by perseverance in two weeks, the
longtk of time the Muduui allowed, my
wife was ablo to opeu her eyes and walk
from her bed to a chair and all over the
room. I give this without solicitation,
believing it my duty, and hopiug tlio citi-

lady encouragement to stay among us.
