SUNDAY
Soul
Tonight is the Black Student
Association's annual Soul
Night, a celebration of African-
American culture and heritage.
With entertainment including
song and dance, this year's
show should be a hit. There
are two shows: The Friday
night show costs $3 and starts
at 7:30 p.m, and the Saturday
show costs $6 for kids, $8 for
adults, and starts at 6 p.m. The
Saturday show also includes
Frenchy's chicken for dinner.
Is trick beer pouring a talent?
If you like talent shows or drink
specials, or especially if you
like when you can have both at
once, then you should head to a
special event at Willy's Pub this
afternoon from 4-7 p.m. Happy
Hour and First Friday have
combined this week, bringing
you Rice's favorite talent exhibi-
tions and a quickly growing
Pub tradition all rolled into one.

Rosa Parks, RENT writer Jona-

did Editor in Chief David Brown
and Senior Editor Julia Bursten.

perennial power Southwest
Missouri State in the season

We have a wet chug, folks
Many of us dreamed of being
sports announcers at some point
in our lives, and there's still
hope. What better way to make
your first foray into sports an-
nouncing than by emceeing the
2007 Beer Bike race? Beer Bike
may not be the most orthodox
of sports, but all that aside, from
8:30 - 10:30 p.m. at Willy's Pub,
compete to be the announcer
for this year's race. Various Beer
Bike scenarios, ranging from the
mundane to the outrageous, will
be presented, and you'll have
to think — and talk — on your
feet. If you're intrigued by this
opportunity, send an e-mail to
beerbike@rice.edu for
more information.
Big venue for President Bill
Due to high demand, the Baker
Institute was able to secure
Autry Court as the new venue
for Bill Clinton's speech here
at Rice. At 3 p.m. today former
president Clinton speaks, and
2000 Rice students may attend
free with their Rice II). Howev-
er, seating is still limited, and on
a first-come, first served basis.
Monologing
Vagina Monologues opens tonight
from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Big Room
in the Sid Richardson College
basement. Proceeds benefit
a local women's shelter. The
sketches range from powerful
and eye-opening to highly come-
dic. Tickets cost $5 for students
and $6 for staff, If you can't make
it tonight, there will be another
show, same time, same place,
tomorrow and Saturday night.
