AN ACT
Securing the right of Appeal.
SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of 'lpresenwaitives
of the Republic of Texas in Congress assembled, That
in the suits authorized to be commenced by Empresari,s,
under the 27th section of the Land Law, against the
President of the Republic, the defendant shall have the
right to appeal without giving the bond and security required
of appellants.
SEC. 2. Be itfurther enacted, That in all cases where
the Republic is concerned as a party, either in her own
name, or the name of her officers, an appeal may be
taken in her behalf without bond or security.

session of Congress, as relates to the town of Gonzales,
which requires the clerk to possess a competent knowI
