projects not normally required of the undergraduate students, and
otherwise to demonstrate a higher quality of work than is expected of
the undergraduate members of the class.
b. Graduate courses that are open to graduate students only
have the letter "G" in the course number. The number following the
letter "G" designates the number of semester hours of credit for the
course.
c. Of the hours required for a master's degree at least one-half
must be in courses open to graduates only.
5. Transfer of Credits
There is no automatic transfer of credits earned in another institution,
but in general, six semester hours of approved graduate work
completed in another accredited graduate school may be accepted for
credit.
6. Extension Credit
A maximum of six semester hours may be earned in extension
work, if approved in advance by the Graduate Council. (Not more
than nine hours may be presented in transfer and extension combined.)
7. Correspondence Credit
Graduate credit is not granted for courses taken by correspondence.8. Amount of Work Which May Be Taken
During the long session a student may enroll for 12 semester
hours, which is the normal load during any one semester. A maximum
of three additional hours may be taken when approved by the Graduate
Council. During a summer term of six weeks a student may enroll
for not more than six hours. A combination of graduate and undergraduate
hours must be approved by the Dean of the Graduate School,
and may not total more than fifteen hours for a semester or six hours
for a summer term.
Students employed full-time in Abilene Christian College or elsewhere
should not enroll for more than nine hours during any long session
(nine months) and three hours during a six-weeks summer term.
Teachers employed full-time must have the approval of their superintendent
and the Dean of the Graduate School to take as many as six
hours during any one semester (not more than nine in nine months).
The teaching load and the course load of a graduate assistant are not
normally to exceed 15 semester hours.
