82G3. The Criticism of Sermons. Problems in homiletic criticism, dealing
with such elements as authenticity of the text, reconstruction of the
social setting, organization, forms of support, style, and delivery.

83G3. Contemporary New Testament Evangelism. A study of modern practical
methods in evangelism. The course includes preparation for, performance
in, and conservation of results of all types of evangelistic
activity.
85G3. Problems in Personal Counseling. An intensive study of special problems
in personal counseling. Current case material will be used as a
basis for discussion. Resource persons from the community in fields
related to counseling will help to bring the insights of their disciplines
to bear on the problems of counseling within the framework
of the gospel.
86G3. Christian Ethics. A study of the foundation of Christian ethical principles
and their application to contemporary private and public problems.
Special emphasis will be given to the problems of family life,
vocations, economic and political justice, race relations, and international
affairs.
87G3. Research Problems in the Practical Field. Individual problems or research
in the practical field not pertaining to a thesis. Each student
is guided in selecting a topic or problem to meet his own needs and
interests, for independent study and research.

aspects of a well-developed program of work and worship for the
local church. Emphasis will be given to the role of the minister in
the program. Experienced ministers will be invited to contribute to
the seminar discussions.

3101. Church Leadership. A study of the fundamental principles of organization
and administration in the total program of the local church.

3115. The Use of Visual Aids in Teaching. A study of principles underlying
the creative use of instructional materials as a supplement to the
teaching program, including a survey of available visual and audiovisual
materials. Not credited with Education 364 or 365.
3134. The Psychology of Religious Education. A study of the psychology
of learning and teaching as it relates to religious education. Theories
of learning, problems of motivation, transfer, attitudes and ideals will
be considered. Psychological principles of teaching will be discussed
and related to religious education.
3135. The Physical Facilities for the Church Program. A study of the physical
facilities as a tool for church work. The course will include not
only an intensive consideration of every possible aspect of church
building and equipment, but also the administrative methods of procedure
in building programs and methods of financing.
