357. Modern Approach to Arithmetic, Algebra, and Intuitive Geometry.
Introduction of elemental set of notions and descriptive axiomatic approach
to the fundamental principles of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry
for elementary school level.
358. Introductory Elementary Mathematical Analysis. An introduction
to mathematical analysis including a brief review of college algebra,
trigonometry, and analytical geometry. A modern approach is given
through symbolic language and concepts of set theory.
371. Ordinary Differential Equations. First order equations, exact and
linear equations, homogeneous and non-homogeneous linear, higher
order equations with constant coefficients, general solutions.
Prerequisite: Mathematics 422 or 518.
372. Series Solutions of Differential Equations. Solution of differential
equations of physics, chemistry, and engineering, and the study of
the properties of solutions. Prerequisites: Mathematics 371.
373. Advanced Calculus. Partial differentiation, vectors, curves and surfaces,
integration. Prerequisite: Mathematics 422 or 518.
374. Advanced Calculus. Multiple integrals, vector integral theorems, infinite
series, improper integrals. Prerequisite: Mathematics 373.
375. Partial Differential Equations. First and second order partial differential
equations, detailed study of some special equations including
Laplace's equation and some wave equations. Prerequisites: Mathematics
371.
377. Probability and Statistics. Probability, random variables, random
sampling, and estimation of paramameters. Prerequisite: Mathematics
422 or 518.
378. Probability and Statistics. Confidence interval, tests of hypotheses,
regression. Prerequisite: Mathematics 377.
381. Introduction to Modern Algebra. An introduction to basic algebraic
structures, groups, rings, integral domains and fields. Prerequisite:
Mathematics 422 or 518.
383. Introduction To Analysis. An introduction to sets of real numbers and
real functions, limits using epsilon-delta methods, continuity, Riemann
integration. Designed to prepare the student for graduate work
in analysis.
