Just enjoyed leading a valuable
article printed In the Feb 1G Issue
of the Western Voice which had been
taken from The Tulia Herald The
title was Two Kinds of Unity a
master piece of Christian cxpicssion
and philosophy How I wish it could
have been printed in Amariilo papers
so that every honest and patriotic
American could be enlightened
and sobered up by it
Hope to be reading more of the

Swisher Farm Bureau
Opposes Fuel Tax
Roscoe Raymond chairman of the
legislative committee of the Swisher
County Farm Bureau announced
today that the local farm group is
writing the state representative
asking support In defeating House
Bill No 538
This bill would levy a lc per gallon
processing tax on all combustible
condensates such as gasoline
dlesel fuel propane butane and
such Tho Swisher County Farm
Bureau feels that Texas people pay
enough tax on fuels used by Texas
people They feel taxes raised on petroleum
products should be placed
on fuel going out of state The Texas
Farm Bureau has for several years
supported a tax on natural gas used
by out of state companies
Raymond said too that the Swisher
County Fnim Bureau was also to
ask Mr Saul and Mr Rogers to support
Senate Bill No 135 This bill
would revise feed control laws to
make them more effective In protecting
feeders against mislabeling
of commercial feeds The local Bureau
also Is asking for the passage
of Senate Bill No 280 which would
regulate the use of natural gas for
pumping irrlgnllon water
Another mcnsuio supported by the
Swisher County Farm Bureau is
Senate Bill No 232 This will allow
city government to require t percent
butter fat in milk

TORNADO SHELTERS ARE BUILT WHEN
THE VIND ISNT BLOWING
Willi ii calm and farsighted look ahead tho farmer in the storm
country builds his shelter when the horizon is clear He doent wait
until an ominous black funnel heralds the approach of twisting
winds Then it would be too late
The same sane attitude toward life prompts a thinking man
to mako some provisions for the future when all is well He knows
that when the judgment comes it will be too late to provide for
tho destiny of his soul and to help others get ready
In Matthew 2127 Jesus said For as the lightning cometh
out of the cast and shineth even unto the west so shall the coming
of the Son of man l > e Suddenly before one has any chance to
make any changes or to make restitution for evil deeds or to obey
the gospel Judgment will come upon us without warning
Noah was wise onough to heed the warning and build his storm
shelter before the time came In those days that wore before the
flood they were eating and drinking marrying and giving in marriage
until the day that Noah entered into the ark And they did
not know until the flood came and took them all away And Jesus
said So also shall the coming of the Son of man be watch
therefore for ye know not the hour your Lord doth come Matt
21 3912
Man buy insurance in an effort to ward off the uncertainties of
the future I hey buy homes stocks and make other Investments
They are looking forward And this is wise
Hut how unwise it is to make provisions only for time and
to disregard eternity The church of Christ is in the business of helping
men and women prepare for the future for coming storms and
the problems of the hereafter When the wind Isnt blowing when
ur skies are clear and when things seem well that is the time
to prepare
At the church of Christ you will find a cordial welcome to come
and study the word of God You will observe the simplicity and
sincerity of the New Testament worship and teaching
