BULLETIN OF HOWARD PAYNE COLLEGE
Refunds:
Any student withdrawing officially from school or dropping
any course, will receive a refund of his tuition according to the
following scale:
Long Summer
Session Session
First Week 90% 80%
Second Week 80% 60%
Third Week 70% 40%
Fourth Week 60% 20%
Fifth Week 50% None
Sixth Week 40% None
Seventh Week 30% None
Eighth Week 20% None
Ninth Week 10% None
Tenth Week or thereafter None None
Any part of a week will be considered as an entire week and
the date of the official drop slip will govern the amount of refund.
An immediate refund will not be made, but, upon request, a check
covering the refund will be mailed to the address left by the student
withdrawing from college.
STUDENT LABOR
The college undertakes to furnish a limited number of student
workships on the campus, in the dormitories, in the library, and
offices of the college. These jobs are granted to deserving students
who have sufficient money to pay a substantial part of their way
through college. Students desiring such work should write to the
college for application forms. A passing average for the preceding
semester is required to remain eligible for these positions.
Remuneration for student employment and workships:
Maintenance employees will earn $.75 per hour.
Kitchen, dining room, student center, Business Office, and
Registrar's office will be given credit at the rate of $.65 per
hour not to exceed $100.00 per semester.
Workships in the library and Fine Arts Departments are
based on $.65 per hour not to exceed $75.00 per semester.
No cash will be paid by the College for student employment.
All workship credit will be applied to the student's current or
future account. No cash reimbursement will be made for student
work in excess of charges nor will credits be transferrable between
students except in the case of husband and wife or brothers and
sisters.50
