BULLETIN OF HOWARD PAYNE COLLEGE
was president from 1956 to 1958, has established an Oriental
Scholarship in memory of Dorothy House Vieman. The earnings
from the fund are to be used by some worthy Oriental student.
Moselle Sallee Mann Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship
was established to aid one or more worthy students to attend
Howard Payne College. The student or students shall be approved
by the President of the college and Miss Hannah Fair Sallee.
The Russell Foundation Chair of Democracy In Action at
Howard Payne College. The Russell Foundation is a nonprofit
charitable and educational trust created by Stella and Willard
Russell in honor and memory of their parents, Sophie and Edmund
F. Wolters and Annie and Henry F. Russell. Dr. McDonald W.
Held, professor of Speech, was chosen to fill this position for
1961-62.
A Kappa Delta Pi Society Scholarship of $50.00 is awarded
to students whose scholastic achievement and professional aptitudes
are high; it provides an award of $25.00 for each of two
recipients.54
