Physical Resources
Sid Richardson Hall. Sid Richardson Hall, a high-rise residence hall for men is
located at the corner of Fisk and Baker. It contains accommodations for
some 300 men. It is centrally heated and air-conditioned and has a
telephone in every room.
Veda Hodge Hall. Hodge is a residence hall for women students which was
completed in September, 1955. Located on Center Avenue across the street
from the main campus, this four-story brick structure has room for 252
women students. It is centrally heated and air-conditioned.
Jennings Hall. Student Union facilities, a director's apartment, the University
Bookstore and post office boxes for the faculty and residents Taylor Hall
and women residents who live in Jennings Hall are located on the ground
floor. The upper three floors will house 174 women students. It is completely
air-conditioned.
Phelps Bible Building. Completed in 1982, this is the newest building on campus.
It was named in honor of President Phelps who was instrumental in
getting the building started and personally supervised its construction. The
building houses the School of Christianity. Constructed in colonial architectural
style to match the rest of the campus, the building contains a chapel
seating 250 persons, five classrooms, nine offices and a small prayer
chapel. The building faces Center Avenue, and it is located between Mims
Auditorium and Winebrenner Science Hall.177
