The General College
CMC 2324. RADIO-TELEVISION PRODUCTION.
A course designed to provide students with "in the studio" experience and to teach them each
aspect of program and commercial production problems. Actual production work will be done
with video tape equipment. Spring.
Prerequisite: CMC 1312 Three semester hours
ART 3334, 3344. ADVERTISING ART.
Problems and instruction in layout, lettering, illustration, and the use of materials related to
advertising reproduction. Six (6) hours per week, lecture and laboratory. Fall, spring.
Prerequisite: Drawing and/or permission of
the instructor. Three semester hours
JOURNALISM 3441. FUNDAMENTALS OF NEWS PHOTOGRAPHY.
A basic study of equipment, camera and darkroom techniques and production in news photo
assignments. Five lecture and laboratory hours per week. The student must furnish his own
camera. Spring, even years.
Prerequisite: Consent of instructor. Four semester hours
CMC 4108-4608. INSTITUTE WORKSHOP.
Special workshops to be offered on demand where special academic and professional personnel
are brought in to lecture in special concentrated workshops.
ECONOMICS 4312. CONSUMER ECONOMICS.
Problems of consumers in an industrial society; consumer choices, consumer bargaining, and
consumer protection. Spring odd years.
Prerequisite: Junior standing Three semester hours
MARKETING 4321. PUBLIC RELATIONS.
A study of the major steps required in setting up and maintaining a sound public relations program
through various types and methods of internal and external communications. Spring.
Prerequisite: Junior standing and three advanced
hours in business or consent of the instructor. Three semester hours.
CMC 4331. RADIO-TELEVISION INTERNSHIP.
Actual professional radio-TV experience provided students under supervision of professional
staff at area radio-television stations. Offered on demand.
Prerequisite: Senior standing and consent of instructor. Three semester hours.
Speech
SPEECH 1101-4609. SPECIAL STUDIES.
Special courses not a part of the regular schedule but offered on an irregular schedule.
Prerequisite: None. One to six semester hours
SPEECH 1117, 3117. SPEECH ACTIVITIES.
Structured for all students who have interest in participation in any form of extracurricular
speech activities. Students may compete in speech contests on the intercollegiate level or may be
involved in speech activities in the community. Three semester hours may be counted toward the
core. Fall, spring.
