REV. W. WIMBERLY
Publishes Hia Withdrawal From the M. E.
Churcta, South, to Become a Baptist.
Brenham, Tex., Oct. 26.—The Brenham
Prtis fchls afternoon publishes the follow-
ing communication from Rev. W. Wimber-
4y, which is somewhat of a surprise to hia
friends and the public generally:
To the Public: I have this day sent my
credentials to Bishop John C. Keener, and
hereby publicly announce my withdrawal
from the Methodist Episcopal church,
south, and pledge my allegiance to the
Baptist church. My standing as a private
member in the church has not been in-
terfered with by my suspension from the
ministry, as will appear from the commu-
nications of Bishop Keener and Rev. Seth
Ward, published in connection with my
card of withdrawal.
Notwithstanding the slanders and vilifi-
cation to which 1 have been subjected, I
have fully intended to stand my trial at
conference. Recent developments, how-
ever. and Information received at Galves-
ton, force me to believe that money was
uied to procure my suspension, and money
t% now being used- to procure my convic-
tion at conference. W. WIMBERLY.
Brenham, Tex.. Oct. 12.—Bishop John C.
Keener, New Orleans, I*a.—Dear Bishop:
I refer you to Bishop McTyelre's Manual
of Discipline, page 100.
Rev. Seth Ward, presiding elder, an-
nounces that Brother Harmon and I were
suspended from the ministry until the en-
suing annual conference. The question has
beeh raised as to our rights to private
membership In the church. Telegraph me
at my expense as to whether or not we
have the rights and privileges of private
members. This is very important and 1
trust you will telegraph me immediately.
Your brother In Christ, W. WIMBERLY.
BISHOP KEENER3 ANSWER.
It la according to the sentence and re-
ferred to Rev. Seth P. Ward, presiding
elder, and chairman of the investigating
committee.:
CarroMton, Oct. 14.—E. H. Harmon and
W. Wimberly were suspended from the
ministry until the ensuing session of the
Texas conference by a he committee ap-
pointed in their oase. SETH WARD.
Chairman.
Houston, Tex., Oct. 16.—Messrs. Harmon
and Wimberly were suspended from the
ministry by the committee of investigation
appointed by Bi*hop Keener. This does
not suspend them from membership in the
'Methodist Episcopal church, south.
SETH WARD.
POP® NOT NEEDED.
Bdton, Bell Co., Tex., Oct. 26.—Hon. D.
12. Patterson, member of the 'house from
this place, wiho has been in Arkansas with
Ws family, who are sick, ever since the ad-
journment of the special session of t'he
legislature, was met by The News reporter
this morning. Among other things he called
the attention of the reporter to the charge
made by some of t'he newspaper corre-
spondents about the Mine of the adjourn-
ment of the isipecial session, to t'he effect
that t'he democrats had to get 'help l'rom
the populists to pass t'he prize fight Haw
with the emergency clause. Mr. Patterson
says that there were twenty-one populists
In the house; that eighty-six was a two-
vhirde vote of the -house, and that there
were 107 votes cast for 'the bill, so that,
leaving off ail of the populist vote, t'he
democrats would have had the necessary
two-thirds. Mr. Patterson thinks this cor-
rection should be imade for t'he truth of
history.
A LITTLE BOY'S LONG JOURNEY.
Katonla^ Tex., Oct. 25.—Freddie Henk'.e
left here on the 15th Instant for a surgical
institute in Indianapolis, Ind.. where he
goes to be treated for spinal affection. 'He
i'3 only 10 years old and made this long trip'
safely alone. (His parents and the people
of Flatonia felt very anxious for his e*afe
arrivad. >So 'Mr, R. B. Tanner, station agent
of the Southern Pacific, tprepared a letter
to the conductors on connecting trains,
flaking each to acknowledge his arrivail.
which they did, and also his departure and
condition. He started at 2.20 p. m., Octo-
ber 15, and arrived dn Indianapolis at 2.35
p. m., October 17. With the present rail-
road system the Ismail children may cross
the continent with, perfect safety. A letter
from his physicians state tils case is ome
that can be successfully treated.

Keep the Baby Fat.
"CaveSpring, Ga., May 21,1894.
"My baby was a living skelpton. The doctors said he was dying of Maras-
mus. Indigestion, etc. The various foods I tried seemed to keep him alive, but
did not strengthen or fatten hiiu. At thirteen months old he weighed exactly
what he did at birth—seven pounds. I befjan using "Scott's Esu lsion,"some-
times putting a few drops in his bottle, then again feeding it with a spoon; then
again py the absorption method of rubbing it into his body. The otfeet u as mur-
velous. Baby began to stouten and fatten, and became u beautiful dimpled boy,
a wonder to all. Scott's Emulsion supplied the one thing needful.
"Mrs. Kknnon Williams."
Scott's Emulsion
is especially useful for sickly, delicate children when their other food
fails to nourish them. It supplies in a concentrated, easily digestible
form, just the nourishment they need to build them up and £i,-e them
health and strength. It is Cod-liver Oil made palatable and easy to
assimilate, combined with the HypophGsphites, both of which are
most remarkable nutrients.
