People are done picking cotton and
are moving daily to their new homes
for another year, many of whom are
leaving this part to get homes
Tom Jonest we are told, left Monday
for Dallas to engage in the restaurant
business his former occupation.
We wish him success.
Walter F. McBride left Tuesday
for Tennessee, his old home. Says
he is gone to stay.
All the sick we hear of are on the
mend since the coli( 'hog killing'"
time we haye been having.
Some of our people are plowing
their land preparatory for a big crop
next year. Wheat is fine here, there
being some mpre sowed this year
than for a good while.
Our young people enjoyed a line
social entertainment at W. 'T, Hurley's
on 'J'unsstay night. The music
rendered was line and all went well
nntill a late hour when they.atijourni
ed and went home rejoicing.
Constable Bushy was down thLi
way Tuesday.
The Hon. WXalter B. Wvlie, of
Cartersville, Ga., was here T'uesdla
and made our-peoe a very.peeit,-a
taingi speech that night on the iinancial
condition of the American
people and remedy for this depression.

is going right along with the clearing

Our community has turned out
but little news this week, and 'the
results is a brief communication.
Entertainments are a "thing of
the past;" but the enjoyment is -substituted
by spare ribs and "spinal

The recent frosts have caused the
pecans to slip from their hulls. like
play things from a child's hand and
a bushel can le easily 'gathered in
a single day.
No o !e of course, of our country
expects to go to India to see the tolal
eclipse of the sun, but the young
Americans are experimenting and
observing its revolution and natural
spots.

The Klondvke region of Ailaska
has a eonstderable extent, even to the
"Gravel Slew." Several have been
seen digging for the iprecious metal
lately, but the fortunate man ihas not
been seen vet.

neighbors last week, and as the
