There were five additions to the
First Dapllsl church yesterday as a
result of the evangelistic services
which are being held there morning

ings Is Increasing if the increase in
congregations is any evidence of the
fad.
The service yesterday morning was
one of the largest of the week, and
at tho night service the house was
filled more completely than at nny
other service so far Itr. Andrews
took as his subject the parable of
Hip Prodigal son. and showed that
religion. Instead of being so costly
as some people try to make out. is

T'ar.s, April I.— King Albert of
Helgium appeared before the council
of four Jodav when it convened at
11 o'clock to discuss Helglan affairs,
lie was accompanied by Paul lly-
liians, the head of the Helglan peace
mdelegalion. It Is understood that
reparations and the territorial asoira-
lions of lielglutn were the subjects.
The absence of President Wilson from
the meeting of the -council d'.d not
affect the situation as King Albert
yesterday had long conferences with
both President Wilson and Colonel
House on the case of Belgium.
When King Albert talked with the
president yesterday the president ap-
peared to be well. After 6 o'clock
the pr sident's condition became such
that he could scarcely talk. T)r.
C.rayson saw him immediately after
the conference adjourned and order-
ed him to lied.

the British statement that the troops
in the Murmansk and Archangel dis-

parently no change, however in the
avowed Intention to lake tho Ameri-

earliest possible date.
General Tanker II. Bliss and other
American Representatives here,
while admitting the gravity of the
situation, are inclined to believed
that the troops at distant outposts
can retreat if necessary before an

Much fiction has been written about
Greenwich Village, the most pictur-
esque spot in New York City. Its old
brick buildings are alive with ghosts
and traditions. No one author has
done so much for Greenwich Village
and its people as has O. Henry.
In Greenwich Village yon will find
the squatty three story brick build-
ings at the top of which Sue and
Johanna had their studio. There
Johanna fell desperately ill with
pneumonia, and old Behrman achieved
his masterpiece at the cost of his own
life, by painting on the wall outside
the sick girl's window. "The Last j
Lelif," that won her back her health '
and strength.
There, too, in the red brick district
whs "The Furnished Boom" A few I
blocks to the west is Abingdon Square. I
In "The Tilings that Play" we are told:
"There atands a house near Abingdon I

The penalty of sham Is dramatic-
ally portrayed In "Kxtravagance," the
latest Thomas H. Ince photoplay fea-
turing the brilliant Dorothy Dalton,
which will be shown at the (Jem thea-
tre today.
The author, John I.ynch, has taken
for his characters the men and wo-
men of the seemingly rich class —
"Seemingly" because they live beyond
their income for the sole purpose ot
trying to make others thing htey are
what they are not.
Helen Douglas, played by Dorothy
Dalton, is one of these women with
an insatiate desire for clothes and
Jewels, who spends money faster than
her husband can earn it. WTien he
finds himself at the brink of ruin he
turns to her for help. She refuses
and on the stock exchange he dramat-
ically denounces her. Ultimately she
places her fortune at his disposal.
The picture wiui directed by Victor
