Leg Bail.—A few days ago
we chronicled the fact that one
Mack Oakes, a distingushed ne-
gro and another no les9 distin-
gushed colored invidual Caessar
Ilurst, who has a penchant for
raising Hail Columbia, had been
before the Mayor and were se-
verally fined,the former $10 and
the latter $5 with the accom-
panying trimmings, Neither of
the gentlemen being provided
with the necessary stamps to
liquidate their fines where taken
back to the city bastile and duly
incarcerated; there they remain-
ed several days as guests of the
city. The weather being warm
and the apartments furnished by
the city not palatial in charac-
ter the gentlemen became weary
ot their restraint from liberty.
Mr. Oakes having had nothing
but water to drink tor several
days it gave him the headache.
It was agreed on the part of the
city, that the two worthy gen-
tlemen should be Bet at liberty
on their parole of honor not to
leave town, and should be allow-
tual consent. The business will
be continued by.
