Brenham Public Schools.—
The public echools of our city
were never in a more flourishing
condition than at! present. All
the grades ot the schools are-well
represented, and the Junior
class of the Iligli school is by
far the largest that entered this
department since the organiza-
tion of the schools. The num-
ber of graduates, from the pres-
ent standing, will be more than
twice the number of last com-
mencement. The following items
of statistics are presented: To-
tal enrollment of white children
up to date, 298. Total enroll-
ment of colored children up to
date, 153. Enrollment in all the
schools, 451. Teachers in white
schools, 7; teachers in colored
schools 4.

in making an arrest, and shall refuse to

ished by a fine of not less than ten nor
more than one hundred dollars, on
conviction thereof before the Mayor

oppose or resist the Marshal or any au-
thorized officer of the city, when mak
ing or about to make an am st, he

one hundred dollars on conviction

a legal Warrant of arrest is directed,
or n ho is about to be arrested without
warrant as provided in Sec. 2 of thi*
ordinance, resist the execution of said
warrant,or said arrest without-warrant,
when attempted by a person tegal.y an

Sec 8. All ordinances and parts of
ordinances in conflict with this ordi-
