A LOUI31ANIAN.
We are much gratified to publish the commu-
nication of a "Louisianian." We will add that
Gen. Mirabcau B. Lamar, Ilia Excellency Gov,
Henderson, Gen. Johnston, Hon. Ashbel Smith,
and many other distinguished gentlemen of Tex-
as, added to the brilliancy of an entertainment
that will not soon be forgotten. The "Lone
Star," as it has been called, will find many rivals
in the galaxy. The hemisphere is now studded.
Take care, Texas /
It may be as well to state that the building
selected for the purpose, was General Arista s
head quarters, a very commodious edifice, front-
ing the main Square, and from the brilliancy
with which it was lighted up, made a very im-
posing appearance.

0tr Captain Thomas P. Clark, well known
and highly appreciated on the Mississippi river,
as an experienced steam.boatman, has brought
into the service a light draft boat, which he has
appropriately named the "Frontier." He de-
signs running her regularly between Matamoros
and Point Isabel, and possessing fine accommo
dations and great speed, she will afford superior
facilities for travel and communication between
these two point?. His prices, $10 for cabin
and §3 for de< k passenger?, are as low as could
be expected, considering the expense he incurs.
The Frontier is an independent boat, not being
regularly enlisted in the Government service,
therefore we trust he will receive sufficient pa
tronage to compensate him fur the risk he incurs
and the enterprise he exhibits. Travellers wil
remember the "Frontier."
