For every livery or feed stable, fifteen cents
for each stall, and lllleen cents for each hack,
buggy or other vehicle, and the clause, for
every hack, bugjrv or other vehicle, let for
hire "not connected with a livery stable, one
one dollar, the following new and additional
provision
For every dray, baggage wagon or freight
wagon or other vehicle iwd for the transpor-
tation ordellvery of freight ,or hire within
the cor|smite limits of the city of ISrcnham
and drawn by one horse or mule ten dollars
and for every such vehicle drawn by mon
than one horse or mule or ox fifteen dollars
which lulUum must he paid ui advance.
The owner or driver of such vehicle shall
procure from the assessor and collector of the

To declare and definitely establish a por
Hon of the western boundary line of
Market street in the City of Brenham.
Be it ordained by the City council of the
City of Brenham,
Sec. i. Tnat whereas it is desirable to
fix and more definitely ascertain a portion
of the western boundary line of Market
street in the City of Brenham, the follow
ing line is hereby fixed and established as
the western boundary line of that portion
of the said Market street lying between the
southeast corner of Bassett & Bassett's
banking house and the road bed of the
H. & 1. C. R. R. Co. Beginning at the
southeast corner of liassett & Bassett'
banking house, a permanent fixture, as
starting point and running from said cor-
ner of said house s. 12 1-2 E. at a varia
tion of to degrees, a direct line to the II.
& T. C. Ry., track, which said line is
declared to be s, 77 0, W. 25 feet, from an
iron pin set in said Market street, which,
said pin is N. 77, E. 25 feet from the be-
ginning point of the line herein established
and one of which pins is N, 77, E. 25 feet
from the terminus of the line herein estab-
lished.
Sec. 2. That this ordinance have force
and go into effect from and after the day
of its passage.

AN ORDINANCE
To provide for the payment of the current
expenses of the .city for the months of
April, May, June, July and August, 1883.
Be it ordained by the" City Council of
the City of Brenham,
That, whereas it is necessary to provide
for the payment of the current expenses of
the city until its revenue derivable from its
occupa'ion taxes is collectable. Thetefore,
Sec. 1. The Mayor and Finance Com-
mittee of the City Council are hereby em-
powered and instructed to contract to pay
interest to some responsible person who
will cash the warrants of the city drawn
against the general fund for officer^ sala-
ries and other current expenses lor the
months of April, May,'June, July and Au-
gust, 1883.
Sec. 2. Said contracfshall provide for
the payment to holders of the face value
of their warrants,"|and shall obligate the
city to pay interest thereon not to exceed
twelve per cent, per annum for such time
as may be until said warrants are paid by
the treasurer of the city.
Sec. 3. The sum of one hundred do i.
lars, or so much thereof as may be neces-
sary, is hereby appropriated lor the pur-
pose of paying such interest as may be
contracted tor and incurred.
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall go into ef-
fect and havejorce from and after its pas-
sage.

Be it ordained by the city council of the
City of Brenham:
Sec. 1. That the revised ordinances of
the City of Brenham, approved April 2,
1880, and published in book form he and
are amended so as to create ordinance 191a
as follows:
Ord. 191a. It shall be unlawful for any
person to discharge any gun, pistol or
other firetrms at any place within the cor-
porate limits of the city. Any person who
shall violate this ordinance, shall, on con-
yiction thereof, before the mayor, be fined
not less than live dollars nor more than
one hundred dcllars.
Sec. 2. This ordinance shall go into
force and have effect from and after its pas-
age.

AN ORDINANCE
To provide for Ihe registration and pay-
ment of the floating debt of the city,
Be it ordained by the city council of the
city of Brenham,
Sec. i. That all holders of orders on
the treasurer, warrant* or other script of
the city, drawn against the general fund,
and issued prior to May 1st, 1883, be and
are hereby required to present the same to
the treasurer for registration before pay-
ment thereof.
Sec. 2. It shall be the duty of the treas-
urer to register such script in a book to be
that purpose i
it is presented, stating the number and
kept for 1
: in the orfler in which
date of such script, the date of registration,
the name of the payee, and the amount for
which it is drawn.
Sec. 3. When a claim has been regis-
tered the treasurer shall write on the face
of the same, its registered number, the

Sec. 4. No script or other warrant or
order drawn against the gtneral fund prior
to May 1st, 1883, shall he paid by the
treasurer unless the same has been duly
X'stered, and then only in the order in
:h it is registered, and out of the fund
created for that purpose.
Sec. 5. It shall te the duty of the city
council to create and establish for the pay-
ment of such script a fund to be entitled
the "floating debt" fund, which said fund
shall be created by the appropiation from
time to time of such surplus funds as may
remain after providing for the current ex-
penses of the city, or in such other man-
ner as may be hereafter provided.
Sec. 6. Nothing in this ordinance
shall be taken or construed to effect the
status of script heretofore issued for the
purchase of streets, which shall be paid as
stipulated in the face thereof without reg-
istration.
Sec. 7. This ordinance shall go inta
effect and have force from and after its
passage.

AN ORDINANCE
Adopting and declaring the Revised Or
dinances as published in pamphlet form
as the General Ordinances of the City ot
Brenham:
Be it ordained by the City council of the
City of Brenham :
Sec. 1. That the ordinances published
from ordinance 1 (one) to ordinance 360
(three hundred ana sixty) inclusive, by the
authority of the city council of the city of
Brenham in pamphlet form under the title
page: "The Revised General ordinances
city council
regular session, june 4th
1003, puimsneti by authority of the city
council," be and is the same as published
in said pamphlet, are hereby declared to
be the General ordinances of the City of
Brenham.
Sic. 2. Said printed ordinances of the
City of Brenham, shall be admitted and re-
ceived in ali courts and places without fur-
ther proof.
Sec. j. This ordinance shall have force
and be in effect irom and after its passage.
