Just Fiun.—A month or two
ago an old deed was filed for re-
oord for the first time. *It is head-
ed Republic of Texas, County of
Washington, and is dated March
81,1888 and acknowledged before
Jno. P. Cole, chief justice, April 5,
1888. It convoys two tracts of
land, one of 803 acres and the other
of 181 acres, in ^Washington conn-
ty. It is strange that some people
are so negligent about having
land titles filed. A few days ago
a deed made in 1833 and headed
Principality of Bexar, Austin dis-
trict, and acknowledged before the
alcalde at San Felipe de Austin,
was filed for record in this county
t The original papers of that date
are now in the custody>«ot Austin
