Hurricane Knew Its Limits.
We learn from Bismarck, N. D.,
that the recent hurricane "did not
manifest its full force until the two
houses of the legislature had ad
journed." This shows that the hurri-
cape knew better than to enter into
competition with a rival that could
beat It fifty miles per hour in the mat-
ter of wind.—Exchange.
A Tough Mistake.
A deranged man walked into a Geor-

breakfast and announced dramatically
that he was "the devil." Some of the
guests fled the scene, but one cool-
headed fellow, motioning him to a
seat, said: "Tackle this steak, then;
It's tough as where you come from."
No Editorial Colonels.
Georgia doesn't believe in cheap
colonels. A $200 uniform is the mini-
mum for any man who wants to cut
didos on the governor'8 staff. That
may shut out some editors, but the
gorgeousness of the staff will be sus-
tained.
