—The controller requests the
Confederate pensioners of the

write letters of complaint, as it
will take at least a month to mail
all the warrants.
—J. E. Shiece, a farmer near
Ector, has in operation the sec-
ond shredder and husker in the
stite. He will have a hundred
tons of fodder hay from a hun-
dred acres of June corn.
—Probably the largest fruit
and truck farm in the world is
being opened near Nacogdoches,
on the Cotton Belt railroad, in
Cherokee county. It occupies
nearly 10,000 acres of land.
—At Franklin last week a negro
named Albert Francis fired into
a hack loaded with negroes, fa-
tally wounding Addie Scott, and
