11 classes of forest areas: Treeless area; Western coniferous forest of the coastal and interior wet belts of British Columbia; Semi-open coniferous forest of southern interior, British Columbia; Sub-Arctic forest; Northwestern coniferous forest; Grove belt (transitional); Prairie vegetation (grass land); Eastern coniferous forest; Mixed forest; Cleared portions of eastern forest belts, including the hardwood forests of southern Ontario and southern Quebec; Southern hardwood forest (practically all cleared).
