‘Splendor in the Glaze’ exhibit will
feature pottery and paintings Friday
The Art Center for the Islands
will host its First Friday reception
Friday, Oct. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. at

The October exhibit will feature

Artists exhibiting include Roger
Hughes, Genie Mysorski, Mer-

Fenci, working on crystalline
glazes.
Mysorski studied art at South-
genda
west Texas State University and
the Southwest Craft Center in San
Antonio. She lives in Rockport and
teaches pottery at the Rockport
Center for the Arts. Her pottery is
influenced by coastal life.
Sullivan, of Port Aransas, also
studied at Southwest Texas State
University, and at Texas A&M,
Corpus Christi. She began studies
in clay at the Creative Arts Center
in Corpus Christi. Her work reflects
the natural beach habitat and wild-
life of Port Aransas.
Wilder lives in Corpus Christi,
making functional pottery with
decorative glazes. Her designs fea-
ture botanical and linear patterns,
influenced by her background in
graphic design and her interest in
insects and native plants.
Adams is a former resident of
Port Aransas, currently living in
Costa Rica and is proprietor of
a Galeria Pelicano. She, too is a
Southwest Texas State University
graduate in art. Her art has won
many awards, among them best of
show in the Corpus Christi Inde-
