"There is said to be one editor
in heaven. How he got ther« is
not known, but it i« conjectured
that he passed himself oil' for a
minister and slipped in unex
;>ect«dly. When the dodge
was discovered they searched
the relms of felicity iu their
length and breadth for a lawyer
to draw np the nec««ary pa-
pers for his ejectment, but they
couldn't find one, and of courae
he held the foil."
Solley S Kemp from Moun-
tain View. Arkansas, who was
visiting his brother-in-law J A
King and family, died here at
7-30 on Friday morning Feb.
2, 1906. Mr Kemp had come
this far on his way to New
Mexico for his health, and was
intending to go from here to
Big Spring Tex as, where he
has an uncle living, and from
there to lioswell New Mexico,
lie had been sick some years
from a hurt received from a
mule kick, on the left
side, caused abcess on his left
lung, and dveloped into what
the doctors termed "Tuberculo-
sis" and after all remedies
had failed, at his home in Ar-
kansas, it was decided to have
him come west for his
health. His first stop was
made at J A King's home,
where he was most welcome.
Having taken cold on the way,
he grew continually worse un-
til Tuesday, Feb. 1, lie was
suddenly taken very bad with
pleurisy in his right lung, from
which accompanied with heart
failure, he died on Feb. 2 1900
at about 7:30 am. On tele-
gram received from his home,
his remains were shipped Sat-
urday to his old home at Moun-
tain View, Arkansas, where he
will rest until the resurection
day, where he will be met by
his host of friends and rela-
tives on the other shore.
lie leaves a wife and two
small children to morn his
Iops, together with a large re-
lationship.
He would have been 31 years
old Feb. 19, 1900, had he lived
to see that time. The short
time lie was here he made
many friends, although he was
only able to be out for a few
days.
He was cared for by loving
hands from the family of J A
King and friends, nothing was
left undone to add to his com-
fort and to try to save him, but
the summons came for him,
and he passed away as if fall-
ing to sleep and his spirit re-
turned to its Maker. Sad it
is to see a young man die, but
sadder still to be away from
home and among strangers,
but the good people of Albany
are never found w&nting in
time of trouble to the stranger
in her gates, and especially
was i t in this instance,
as the family of J A King were
® ' Mt ~
so well and favorably known
that, to know that Mr Kemp
was a relative and friend in
sured all attention possible
and the noble people tenderly
laid the body away to be re
turned to its home. Love to
his memory and peace to his
ashes, and nny we al> remem
her his patient loving disposi
tlon and be prepared to meet
him in the great beyond
where there is no more parting
and where pain and sorrow
never come,

our pockets will start
a bank account. Deposit
with the bank and pay your
bills by check.
• Your check book shows just
where your money went and
for what, purpose. Your
money slips away without
any trace when you do not
keep a record of your re-
ceipts und expenditures. A
checking account records
every item, saves time and
trouble. It's a great con-
venience.
• Your checks are returned to
you when you have your

Husband Gets Alimony.
For the first time on record in
Cincinnati a husband has been
granted alimony. Judge Sam W
Smith gave Mrs. Robert V. New-
lin a decree of absolute divorcc
from her husband and the custmly
of their three children and ordered
Iter to pav hint $1,000 and $10 «
week. Newlin relinquishes al
claim to any share in his wife's
property. Divorce was obtainet
for non-support and the alimony
terms were arranged between the
lawyers. Newlin is a doj» fancier
and his wife is wealthy in her own
right. She has been supporting the
family. They were married in 1894
and are prominent aocudly.
