tertained a large conipanyof young
people at their residence last
evening in East Gainesville in a
hospitable and elegant style. The
occasion was given in honor of
MissesCapitola Burnett, sister of
Mrs. Graham, and Jennie Haggart.

ing a few weeks -waiting in this
city. The lawn was illuminated
with Chinese lanterns and the
residence handsomely decorated,
and everthing the eye glanced
upon was cheerful and bright in
appearance. The evening was
spent in an informal way. some i u-
dulgiug in games wh'le others in
social conversation. At an ap-
propriate time refreshments aiul
delicate fruits in abundance were
served in elegent style. The
evening passed so pleasantly
away th.it all was surprised when
the clock struck twelve. The
party then broke up, al'' express-
ing themselves as having enjoyed
