There was a freight train wreck
Saturday evening last on the 8anta
Fe near the Washita, oausing the
delay of the eouth bound passen-
ger train some six hours.
For several years railroad com
pamea charged tl a mile for a train
consisting of two ooaches and a
baggage car to special parties, and
some still oontinue this rate, but
the leading roads now oharge the
fare sf forty-five passengers per
mile as based on the rate sheet,
and from special trains are now de-
riving a very respectable revenue.
