Special to the Hesperian.
Wichita Falls, Sept. 27.—In the
presence of an immense crowd the
Wichita Falls nine and the boys
from Gainesville played an excit-
ing game of ball this afternoon
and the Cowboys were over-
whelmingly defeated. The visit-
ors played ball like prcfessionals
and seemed to foresee every play.
The Cowboys played well bat
were oat of their class. At the
close of the ninth Inning the score
stood 7 to 0 in favor of the visit-
ors and the game was pronounced
by Wirt Spencer to be a "phe-
nomical"' one. Wirt Spencer
pitche<kthe game and is declared
by the Cowboys to be a holy ter-
ror. Betting is heavy with the
visiting nine a favorite. The
Gainesville nine made six of their
runs in the first inning.
