The man Bacon who was hurt
at Davis Saturday morning had to
have his leg amputated and at
last accounts was doing well.
Commissioners' court met yes-
terday afternoon in regular ses-
sion. Considerable routine busi-
ness was attended to yesterday
evening.
The officers of the orphain home
desire to return thanks to the
following dry goods firms for their
handsome straw mattings. Mr.
hospitable and will see to it that
they are cared for handsomely
while here.
Little Minnie, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. P. B Stoner fell from a
peach tree Sunday evening and
broke her arm. She is getting on
right well now. Her father reach
ed home yesterday evening from
McAlester.
Key. J. W. Hill preached a
scathing sermon Sunday night,
aimed at the sins and follies of the
day. Rev. Hill never preaches at
long range, but always grapples
the evils he opposes in a hand to
hand e ncounter.
The North Texas Epwortli
League convention, which meets
here June 5. 6 and 7, will be at-
tended by at least 1000 delegates.
The meeting will be at the Broad-
way Methodist church. The peo-
ple of the city will entertain them.

residence of the bride's mother on
North Dixon street, Dr. J. A.
Wood, pastor of the Denton street
Presbyterian church, officiating,
M iss Bertha Patterson was mar-
ried to Mr. George H. Russell. It
was a quiet wedding, only a few
friends being present. The bride
and groom left on the 4 o'clock
Santa Fe for New Orleans. They
will also visit Mr. Russell's old
home in Tennessee and the bride's
relatives in Kentucky before re-
turning. We learn that they will
return and make their home in
Gainesville.
The best wishes of a large circle
